OUTRIGGER Fiji Beach Resort (FOR)

USP Academic Visitation & Coral Planting

BY ASHNEEL CHAND – More than 100 students from the University of South Pacific visited FOR to carry out coral planting as part of their academic fieldtrip on the 5th and 12th of April. For each visit the group planted more than 100 corals. The students were briefed on the OUTRIGGER Zone initiatives that the resort has and on the challenges our reef faces. The students were able to learn hands-on how coral planting is done in the resort and plant more than 300 plus corals in the process.

Every time we have large groups visit the resort to plant corals, we move closer to reaching our goal of planting 2,000 corals for the year.
