‘OhanaGRAM: Revenue and Distribution

Please join me in congratulating several of our hosts on promotions in the areas of revenue and distribution effective August 1, 2023:
- JAMES WILSON to corporate director of business intelligence and distribution
- KEVIN DOO to senior revenue systems manager
- DAVID NISHI to senior distribution manager
- LUKE HAMADA to area director of revenue strategy (OHANA Waikiki East by OUTRIGGER and OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beach Resort
- MARY ATKINSON to area director of revenue strategy (OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki Beach Resort and OUTRIGGER Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel)
James continues to report to Jenna Villalobos, commerical strategy, and Kevin and David report to James.
JAMES’ new role is critical to data-driven decision-making and ensuring that we reach our customers efficiently. He was director, business intelligence and analytics services since 2020 and joined OUTRIGGER in 2016 as manager, business intelligence. Before that, he was director of front office operations and front office manager for Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort in Miramar Beach, Florida, and was an implementation consultant to hospitality operations for Oracle. James enjoys road biking, hiking and is studying to be a pilot.
KEVIN’s new role is vital to ensuring the technical management and optimization of our revenue systems. His primary focus will be overseeing the design of rate planning and enhancement of revenue management systems and processes to maximize revenue and profitability. In addition to managing revenue systems, he will also play an essential role in OTA (Online Travel Agency) partner management, ensuring effective collaboration and utilization of distribution channels to drive revenue growth and maintaining competitiveness in the industry.
Kevin was assistant director revenue strategy and before that revenue manager when he joined OUTRIGGER in 2021. He gained revenue, distribution and operations experience with Next Story Group in Sydney, The Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort and Aqua-Aston Hospitality. Kevin loves all things sports-related, traveling to experience different cultures and food and “cheffing” it up in the kitchen.
DAVID’s role is key in managing the configuration and use of our property management systems and the distribution of our rooms to various channels to maximize occupancy and revenue. He has been with OUTRIGGER from front desk operations to distribution for more than 30 years and enjoys Korean dramas, spending time with his family and taking long weekend walks.
Luke and Mary report to Keri Brown, area director of commercial strategy. As area directors of revenue strategy, their new responsibilities include the oversight of revenue management and pricing strategies for their newly assigned hotels with the goal of optimizing revenue. Both collaborate closely with the property general managers and the marketing team to drive revenue growth.
LUKE’s OUTRIGGER career began in 1987 serving in many capacities, including rooms division manager, general manager, director of revenue management at the former Holiday Inn Resort Waikiki Beachcomber and director, revenue & pricing–Hawai‘i & Guam. He enjoys spending time with his wife and two amazing kids and when not meticulously overseeing his revenue and pricing duties, Luke can most often be found somewhere on a golf course.
MARY joined OUTRIGGER in 2022 as revenue manager and within a year moved to assistant director of revenue strategy. Before OUTRIGGER Mary was both a distribution and revenue consultant with Dragonfly Strategists and revenue consultant for Total Customized Revenue Management. Mary enjoys kiteboarding, hiking and snowboarding.
