Outrigger Sponsors Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festivals – Waikīkī + Kona-Style

Caption for image above: This exhibit honoring the Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar initially debuted at The GRAMMY Museum® during the Outrigger-sponsored Mele Mei in LA in Feb. 2016, then traveled to Hawai‘i in time for Mele Mei and was showcased at the Ala Moana Center until the end of June 2016.

Outrigger Hotels and Resorts is proud to be a sponsor of  the 40th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival – Waikīkī Style – set for Saturday, August 13, from 4-9 p.m. at the Waikiki Aquarium and the 25th Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival – Kona Style – scheduled for Sunday, September 18, from 1-5 p.m. on the beautiful grounds of our Outrigger Kona Resort and Spa.

Admission for the Waikīkī festival is a $10 donation at the door to benefit the Waikiki Aquarium. Artists include Ken Makuakane Pandamus Club, Ledward Kaapana, Kawika Kahiapo, Pat Landeza & Sons, Paul Togioka, Don Kaulia, Brother Noland, Stephen Inglis, Dwight Kanae, Kamuela Kahoano, Jonah Domingo, Ian O’Sullivan, Bobby Moderow and Ho‘okena. Billy V will be emcee and the event will be live-streamed at @www.facebook.com/slackkeyfestivals.

The lineup for the Kona Festival includes Ledward Kaapana, George Kuo, Kawika Kahiapo, Kailua Moon, Dwight Kanae, Stephen Inglis, Kamuela Kahoano and others.
